How to get here
Kiruna has good air, rail, and road connections. It is recommended to use winter tyres from mid-October until mid-April. This is provided on all rental cars. To reach Kiruna from Narvik (west coast – Norway), drive 2 hrs on highway E10.
 
Both Luleå and Narvik have international airports operated by several airlines.

Local drive, Kiruna to Esrange 
There is no public transportation. Car or taxi must be used. The distance is 45 km, driving time is about 45 minutes.
From Kiruna airport or the town of Kiruna, drive south on highway E10. At about 10 km south of Kiruna C, turn left towards Jukkasjärvi until you find yourself in the middle of the village. There you turn left again and follow the roadsigns to Esrange, around 25 km east of Jukkasjärvi.

Esrange has an agreement with AVIS and can arrange rental cars if an advance request is made. The cars are made available at the airport or the railway station upon arrival in Kiruna and/or left at these locations upon departure – arrange in reservation.
