Representatives from Spaceport Sweden attend the New Mexico Spaceflight symposium On October 24 & 25, 2007, Olle Norberg and Bengt Jaegtnes represented Spaceport Sweden at the International Symposium for Personal Spaceflight in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Olle Norberg was invited to give a presentation on the status of Spaceport Sweden in the session “Building the Spaceport Network”. Other spaceports featured in this session were the Kourou Spaceport, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at Wallops and SpaceFlorida. This was Spaceport Sweden’s first international presentation and the audience was very interested to learn more about its possibilities. Olle Norberg and Bengt Jaegtnes also initiated a discussion with representatives from Spaceport America and Virgin Galactic about how to make sure that the spaceports strive to adopt common procedures, standards, methods, and tools for their work with spaceport users. Such discussions will intensify as the spaceports get ready for operations. Bengt Jeagtnes also attended the Wirefly X Price Cup during the weekend following the Symposium.
